The Rise is a comedy about a group of friends who ultimately overcome their "ends" (area they live in). The group is formed after Louis, the main character, strikes up a friendship with one of the other characters. They go on to introduce their other friends, Jake, Ollie, and Will, who round up the group. After they formed, they determined that they were weary of being the scum of their own ends and that they would challenge for top boy, but it was not as simple as it seemed and was fraught with many problems, deaths, and hardships. They won the respect of all the yutes, after taking over their ends, those who are beneath them in authority started listening. The group then continues by offering these young people advice on maturing and how to use their ideas to change the world. After some time, the opposing sides unite to fight the government and the pigs, take control of England, and look to conquer other countries in upcoming episodes. With friends who also came from comparable backgrounds to mine, I was able to draw parallels between my life and the sitcom since I grew up in a neighbourhood where these events were relatable.
